I am passionate about using the platform of sports to make a lasting impact on young athletes and communities. As an Area Representative for Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Sports, I am dedicated to teaching the fundamentals of baseball while also reinforcing the fundamentals of faith. If we’re not loving God and loving our neighbor, then nothing else matters.
With a background as a former college baseball player, coach, and mentor, I understand the power of sports to shape character, build relationships, and inspire positive change. My mission is to ensure that all kids—especially those from underprivileged backgrounds—have the opportunity to play, grow, and be part of something greater than the game itself.
Through camps, clinics, leagues, and after-school programs, I strive to create a Christ-centered environment where young athletes can develop their skills, deepen their faith, and experience true community. I am also actively involved in fundraising, sponsorships, and partnerships to make these opportunities accessible to as many kids as possible.

Catch the Zone ~ Embace the Spirit – A First-of-Its-Kind Baseball Experience.
David Kelly inspired the author with his faith-supported healing journey and mission to give back to the communities that ate at his soul. Going Beyond the Call proudly sponsored a version of our Mental Management for Youth Leaders Program and developed a faith-fueled customized program supporting David's mission.
As a contributing author and baseball expert, David Kelly assisted the development of this book and workshop to help coaches and volunteers manage the social-emotional challenges faced in many underserved communities. In today's world, the lessons would serve every youth equally well.
This training equips coaches and volunteers with the tools to mentor children not only in baseball but also in navigating life's challenges. With your support, we can bring this coach's workshop to life, both live and online, expanding its reach and preparing the coaching staff at every skills clinic and league program. A launch aimed to fuel the growth of future clinics and leagues run by local community coaches, volunteers, community capacity building advocates, and faith leaders.
This is the first training of its kind to provide coaches with a Trauma-Informed Coach™ blueprint for helping young athletes navigate the mental battles of the game and throughout life. All the while, giving coaches and volunteers the education to guide children with behavioral challenges toward becoming not only better players, but also stronger teammates and more emotionally resilient youth.

Catch the Spirit baseball is not only about winning games, but also about building strong moral character and developing adaptive resilience to face any challenge that comes their way. This faith, self-regulation, athletic skills, and community-building experience shapes young athletes to thrive both on and off the field.

Our mission is to revive the game of baseball as a ministry of hope, beginning in the neighborhoods that need it most. We start small: free skills-building clinics in underserved communities where baseball has all but disappeared. Here, kids learn more than just how to play; they discover a sense of belonging, mentorship, faith, and purpose in a fun, no-pressure environment.
However, this is only the beginning; it is a scalable model that can transform communities of every kind, from rural to urban, and from affluent to struggling.
